Flip-flop in bilayer was created by dariush
Is there anybody, who observed flip-flop in the bilayer simulation using MARTINI? Pure bilayer or mixed one?
Could you please share the conditions?

Short, off the top of my head answer
No "normal" Martini lipids do not flip-flop on the few microsecond time scale without some bilayer defect / pore etc. But cholesterol does and so would specific "strange" lipids like e.g. diacylglycerols.

Cheers,

Thanks!
Is there any publication on this subject - using MARTINI? I found a paper, but it is full atomistic:

Replacing the cholesterol hydroxyl group by the ketone group facilitates sterol flip-flop and promotes membrane fluidity, T. Rog, L.M. Stimson, M. Pasenkiewicz-Gierula, I. Vattulainen, M. Karttunen, J. Phys. Chem. B. 112 1946-1952 (2008).
